Mancherial: Eight more hospitals including diagnostic centres of the district were seized for flouting norms during inspections carried out jointly by the authorities of the medical and health, police and revenue departments on Saturday.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr Subbarayudu said that Arogya Lab, and Sri Balaji of Chennur town Diagnostics, Akhira Dental Hospital, Sravanti Dental, Dr Syed Glodent, Shivani Centre in Mancherial district centre, Star Lab of Luxettipet and Aruna Hospital in Bellampalli were seized for violating norms and for failing to follow guidelines of the government. He warned that stringent action would be taken against those hospitals who flout the rules.
Licenses of 22 hospitals located in Mancherial, Chennur, Naspur and Luxettipet towns were cancelled during the joint inspections by the officials of the three departments conducted on April 7 and 8. Collector Bharati Hollikeri instructed the authorities to inspect the hospitals following an alarming percentage of caesarian operations in private hospitals of the district.
