Hyderabad: An eight year-old-boy died under suspicious circumstances at his house in Chilkalguda here, on Saturday.

K Upender, a student of class second, lived along with his parents and 10 year old elder sibling at their house in Hamalibasthi in Chilkalguda.

On Saturday, while the two brothers were playing in the house, the elder one reportedly hit Upender with a blanket. “Agitated after being hit by his elder brother, the boy went to bedroom and lay down on the bed. A little later when his mother tried to wake him, he did not respond. He was rushed to Osmania General Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead,” said B Srinivasa Rao, Sub-Inspector Chilkalguda police station.

The hospital authorities informed the police, which reached the hospital and after a preliminary enquiry booked a case based on a complaint from the mother.

“The woman told that she did not suspect any foul play in the death of her child. A case under Section 174 of CrPC is booked and investigation going on,” the police added.
