Mancherial: A two-day-long bird walk concluded at Gollavagu in Bheemaram mandal centre under Chennur forest range on Sunday.
Chennur Forest Range Officer Shiva Kumar said that participants spotted around 80 common and migratory bird species inhabiting the irrigation tank.
He stated that Yellow footed green pigeon, Blyth’s reed warbler, Shikra, Asian green bee-eater and White throated kingfisher among the various bird species sighted during the event.
Forest officials further said that the birds would be registered in the records of the department for future use. They stated that the participants gave valuable insights to protect the birds and expressed their interest to extend their cooperation for the cause.
The participants expressed happiness to spot the winged wonders at the irrigation tank and arrangements made by the forest officials.
