Eighty kg of ganja being smuggled to Karnataka seized in Sangareddy

Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj said a police team led by Sub-Inspector Rajendar Reddy was conducting vehicle checks at Madgi when they discovered ganja hidden in a car. The driver was identified as G Tirupathi (25), a resident of Govindpur in Zaheerabad mandal.

Sangareddy: Sangareddy police seized 80 kg of dry ganja which was being smuggled to Karnataka in a car at Madgi under Chiragpally police station limits close to the Karnataka border on Tuesday evening.

Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj said a police team led by SI Rajendar Reddy were checking vehicles at Madgi when they found the ganja inside a car. The driver was identified as G Tirupathi (25), a resident of Govindpur in Zaheerabad mandal. The police said the accused, who used to eke out a livelihood by driving a tractor, had accepted the contract of driving the car upto Bagdhal in Karnataka for Rs.50,000.


The police have seized the ganja, the car and arrested the driver. A probe is on to nab the rest of the smuggling gang.
