Elderly couple commits suicide in Narayankhed
An elderly couple allegedly died by suicide in Sangareddy’s Narayankhed mandal after their three sons reportedly failed to care for them despite a previous police complaint. Their bodies were retrieved from an agricultural well, and police have launched an investigation
Sangareddy: An elderly couple died by suicide after their three sons allegedly refused to take care of them, despite the couple approaching the police with a complaint. The incident took place in Chapta-K village in Narayankhed mandal on Wednesday. The bodies of Narsi Reddy (75) and Anjamma (70) were retrieved from a well.
The couple had earlier filed a complaint with the Narayankhed police, but their sons allegedly failed to mend their ways. Unable to lead an independent life, the couple reportedly decided to end their lives in an apparent suicide pact.
They walked to their agricultural well and jumped into it. The police retrieved the bodies with the help of locals. The bodies were taken to the government hospital in Narayankhed for postmortem.
The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
