Kumram Bheem Asifabad: An elderly farmer was swept away in a flooding stream while attempting to cross it at Kishan Naik Thanda under Chintakarra village in Jainoor mandal on Sunday evening. His body was traced the same day.

Police said Kaniram Jadav (80) was washed away when he tried to cross the stream, which was in spate due to heavy rains in the upstream areas. Unable to gauge the strong current and not knowing how to swim, he was carried away by the flow.

His body was later found about 100 metres downstream from the spot. Jadav was returning from his farm at the time of the incident.
