Elderly man commits suicide in Nalgonda
According to a complaint lodged by the victim's wife, Venakatamma, with the police, she received a phone call from a known person that her husband was found hanging near Kothapally by locals.
Nalgonda: A 60-year-old person committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near SLBC canal at Kothapally in the district on Thursday morning. The victim was identified as Ubbani Anand, a daily wage worker.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim’s wife, Venakatamma, with the police, she received a phone call from a known person that her husband was found hanging near Kothapally by locals. The couple is a resident of Kathalguda. Her husband had spent three months in jail for his involvement in a crime and was released about a week ago. He may have resorted to the extreme step due to depression following his time spent in jail, she added.
Nalgonda Rural Sub-Inspector Rajasekhar Reddy informed that a case was filed based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s wife. The body was shifted to Government General Hospital of Nalgonda for autopsy.
