Hyderabad: An elderly man was murdered, allegedly by his live-in partner, at their house in Pedda Amberpet village in Hayathnagar mandal on the city outskirts here late on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as P Yadaiah (62), an agricultural worker from Ramannapet of Yadadri-Bhongir district. According to the police, Yadaiah’s wife had died 10 years ago and since then, he was living with one G Narasamma of Dilsukhnagar who had separated from her husband nine years ago and has four daughters.
The couple often had fights with Yadaiah abusing and beating Narasamma, sometimes in an inebriated condition, police said. On Wednesday, Yadaiah is said to have gone home drunk and picked up an argument with Narasamma and started abusing her.
“Angered by it, she grabbed a pestle and attacked him on the head. He was shifted to the hospital, where he died later while undergoing treatment,” police said.
The Hayathnagar police have booked a case and are investigating.
