Kumram Bheem Asifabad: An elderly woman from Dabba village in Chintalamanepalli mandal staged a protest on Monday, alleging that her land had been illegally transferred to another person using a forged death certificate, despite her being alive.

Japidi Somubai, who lives alone, along with her family members, held a sit-in in front of the office of Sub-Collector Shraddha Shukla in Kagaznagar. She claimed that 24 guntas of her land had been transferred in the name of Uppula Narasimha Chary, a resident of the same village.

Somubai alleged that the land was first encroached upon and later registered in Chary’s name through fraudulent means. She urged the Sub-Collector to cancel the registration and take necessary legal action.

Following an assurance from the Sub-Collector that the matter would be thoroughly investigated, Somubai withdrew the protest.
