Hyderabad: Two people were injured in separate incidents allegedly involving the banned Chinese manja on Monday.

In the first incident, a 70-year-old woman, Yadamma, was seriously injured while walking along the Almasguda main road in Meerpet. The sharp kite string suddenly wrapped around her leg, causing a deep cut and heavy bleeding.

Locals rushed her to a nearby private hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

In another incident, an Assistant Sub-Inspector Nagaraju of Nallakunta Police Station suffered a serious neck injury after Chinese manja got entangled around his neck at South Swaroop Nagar in Uppal.

The incident occurred when he was heading out from his Uppal residence for exhibition duty. He was immediately shifted to a private hospital in LB Nagar and is reported to be stable.
