Elderly woman dies, two injured as tree falls on house in Meerpet
An elderly woman was killed and two of her family members injured when a tree collapsed on their asbestos‑roofed house at Meerpet in Hyderabad during heavy rains on Saturday night.
Hyderabad: An elderly woman died while two others suffered injuries when a tree fell on their house due to heavy rains at Meerpet on Saturday night.
The woman, Lakshmi, (75), lived along with her son Venkatesh (30) and Lalitha (28), at Raghavendra colony, Meerpet. They are natives of Nagarkurnool district.
On Saturday, the family was asleep in their house when a huge tree fell on the asbestos-roofed house. All the three suffered injuries due to it and Lakshmi died on the spot.
Two others, Venkatesh and Lalitha, suffered injuries and were shifted to hospital.
The police registered a case and are investigating.
