Elderly woman, living under polythene cover-tent dies of sunstroke in Mancherial
A 60-year-old woman died of sunstroke in Mancherial district while living under a makeshift polythene tent. Officials attributed her death to extreme heat conditions, as the district recorded high temperatures nearing 43 degrees Celsius

Mancherial: A 60-year-old woman, who was residing under a makeshift tent made of polythene covers, died of sunstroke at Gundla Sumaram village in Nennal mandal on Sunday.
Police said that Challuri Rukmamma fell unconscious due to sunstroke and was rushed to a hospital in Nennal, where she was declared dead. She was taking shelter under the tent as she had razed her old house a few months back. Scorching heat wave, coupled with heat produced from the polythene, was attributed to her death.
She was living alone as her family members had migrated to urban areas in search of livelihood. Further details are awaited.
Incidentally, the average maximum temperature of the district was measured at 42.9 degrees Celsius, while Bheemaram mandal recorded the highest maximum temperature of 43.9 degrees Celsius.
