Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said Huzurabad Assembly constituency remained backward in the past 20 years.
“Though all other areas in the State developed on all fronts, Huzurabad remained backward. Developmental activity in the town picked up momentum only in the recent past. If the people of the constituency want it to continue, they should elect TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav in the by-poll,” the Minister said at an election campaign in Huzurabad town on Monday.
BJP leader Eatala Rajender, who never asked the government for funds to develop the constituency, himself grabbed lands of the poor, he alleged, adding that Rajender would create hurdles on developmental works if he was elected in the by-poll. Chilukavagu bridge, Satsangh road and other works would be stalled, he said.
Besides stalling developmental works, BJP leader would question that he was not in power. Stating that Rajender would not be available to the public, the Minister said TRS candidate Srinivas Yadav would always be in the public.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who achieved Statehood for Telangana putting his life at risk, was also developing the State with similar enthusiasm. Earlier, farmers used to face difficulties for current and water. Women used to make round around water tankers due to lack of drinking water supply. A lot of changes took place before and after the formation of Telangana state.
Besides 24 hours current supply, Ryth Bandhu, Rythu Bima, Dalit Bandhu, Aasara pensions, Kaleshwaram project, Kalyanalaxmi, KCR kit, Diagnostic centers, Sheep distribution and other schemes were introduced by the Chief Minister.
Telangana has become a role model to the entire nation in the implementation of various schemes. Why the states ruled by BJP and Congress parties were not implementing the schemes that have been implemented in Telangana, he questioned.
The Union government led by BJP, which was privatizing all public sector undertakings, was trying to fix meters to agricultural pump sets. Central government has imposed a huge burden on the common man by increasing the prices of diesel, petrol, and cooking gas.
Kamalakar wanted the people to take a decision only after thinking thoroughly and elect TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav.
