Sangareddy: The elected representatives of the erstwhile Medak district have donated their one month salary to “Mana Ooru Mana Badi” during Finance Minister T Harish Rao’s meeting with officials and elected representatives in Sangareddy district on Wednesday.While the Finance Minister was discussing with the officials on Wednesday, MLC Faaooq Hussain has announced his one month’s salary towards the scheme.

Amid the round of applause, the remaining elected representatives followed in his footsteps. MP Medak Koththa Prabhakar Reddy, MP Zaheerabad BB Patil, MLCs Sheri Subhash Reddy, Ragotham Reddy, Dr Yadava Reddy, MLAs M Padmadevendar Reddy, Mahareddy Bhupal Reddy, Gudem Mahipal Reddy, Chanti Kranthi Kiran, K Manik Rao, Zilla Parishad Chairpersons V Manjusri, V Roja Sharma, R Hemalatha Goud and others have donated their one month salary. The donations made by each elected representative will be spent on a particular school in their respective constituency.


DCMS Chairman Malkapuram Shiva Kumar, District Libraries Chairperson P Narahari Reddy and several others have made donations. Harish Rao has asked them to send the amounts to their respective district collectors. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that they have selected 1,097 schools under the Mana Vuru Mana Badi programme in the erstwhile Medak district. Since the government has released Rs 7,289 crore towards Dalit Bandhu, Rao said that one-third of government schools will get a facelift during the first year of the programme. Asking the officials and elected representatives to draw inspiration from Mission Kakatiya Programme in which the government has involved donors, particularly NRIs, Rao has called upon the officials and elected representatives to involve the donors in the Mana Vuru Mana Badi programme to develop the schools on par with corporate educational institutions.
