Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has sought views and suggestions from the presidents and general secretaries of recognised national and regional parties for preparing exhaustive guidelines as several by-elections and general elections to legislative Assemblies of five States are due in 2021-22. In a letter, the ECI Secretary Ajay Kumar Verma said the suggestions from the parties must reach the Commission by August 30. He said the ECI has issued several guidelines, instructions and orders for campaigning during general election or by-election in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
