Election tension drives candidate to suicide attempt in Kagaznagar mandal
A tense situation unfolded in Raspalli village of Kagaznagar mandal, Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, when Sarpanch candidate Bommella Rajanna allegedly attempted suicide by consuming pesticide on Wednesday. He was rushed to a hospital in Kagaznagar town, where his condition is stable.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A Sarpanch candidate allegedly attempted to die by suicide fearing he would be defeated by his opponent in the elections held at Raspalli village in Kagaznagar mandal on Wednesday.
The candidate Bommella Rajanna tried to end his life by consuming a pesticide thinking that he would not win even before voting began in the village. He was rushed to a hospital in Kagaznagar town, where his condition was stated to be stable.
Rajanna was reportedly disheartened after learning that his opponent was distributing cash to electors to influence the outcome of the elections. Fearing he would be defeated, he attempted to commit suicide.
