Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A 25-year-old electrician was murdered by an unidentified person at Kondapalli village in Penchikalpet mandal on Monday night.
Police said Deekonda Sridhar Chary was hacked to death around 9 pm. He sustained grievous injuries to his abdomen and died on the spot due to heavy bleeding.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Sridhar may have been killed over an alleged illicit affair with a married woman from the village.
According to police, Sridhar had previously been warned for maintaining close contact with the woman after her husband, Potte Rajanna, lodged a complaint against him a month ago.
Following the incident, Sridhar’s family members staged a sit-in in front of the woman’s house, demanding stern action against Rajanna. They alleged that Rajanna murdered Sridhar for speaking to the woman over phone.
It is learnt that Rajanna surrendered to the police. Based on a complaint lodged by one of Sridhar’s siblings, a case was registered and investigation is underway.
