Electronic chips in fuel bunks to cheat customers: Gang nabbed in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Balanagar police caught a gang on charges of cheating customers by  installation of Integrated Chips in fuel pumps on Thursday.

The gang, including mechanics and owners of fuel pumps in TS, AP and KA had installed chips with software in the fuel dispensing machine.


Balanagar DCP PV Padmaja said the chip manipulates the fuel quantity and thus, it delivered less quantity of fuel against the actual display on the meter.

Officials said the gang is suspected to have cheated hundreds of customers to the tune of crores.
