Eleven held for betting on ram fights in Hyderabad

On a tip-off, the police raided a ground at Dargah Hakeem Shah Vali located near Film Nagar and found a group of people organizing a ram fight.

Hyderabad: Eleven persons were arrested by the Banjara Hills police for betting on ram fights on Friday. The police seized Rs.60,000 from them.

P Shiva Chandra, SHO (Banjara Hills) said on a tip-off, the police raided a ground at Dargah Hakeem Shah Vali located near Film Nagar and found a group of people organizing a ram fight.


Two persons, Meraj Khan of Yellareddyguda and Mohd Saddam of Bhoiguda, had brought the rams to the place and were organizing the fight while nine other persons had come to place bets on the rams named Veeru and Malik.

A case has been registered by the Banjara Hills police. The ram were shifted to a cattle-yard at Amberpet.
