Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao has called upon the agriculture and horticulture department officials to encourage the farmers in Siddipet to opt for mulberry cultivation since there were good profits in mulberry cultivation. During a meeting with farmers and model farmers who were successful in cultivating mulberry in Siddipet at a Mulberry farm at Chandlapur in Chinnakodur Mandal on Monday, the Minister planted a mulberry sapling to mark the beginning of plantation at farmers Umapathi and Prabhakar’s agriculture fields.

Saying that the farmers were earning good profits on mulberry, Rao urged them to follow the suggestions of officials and model farmers before taking up the cultivation. He observed that the farmers can earn better profits through mulberry cultivation with relatively little investment.
Stating that not much risks were involved in the cultivation, Rao said that even people aged from 7 to 70 years can easily understand the basics of mulberry cultivation.

The Minister has facilitated an interaction between the farmers who were cultivating mulberry successfully, and the aspiring farmers. Farmers have shared their experiences in cultivation of mulberry on this occasion.
