Hyderabad: A two-judge panel of Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili on Tuesday directed CEO of Wakf Board to take action on a complaint with regard to encroachment of Wakf property. A PIL was filed by Jahangir Pasha SK against Telangana State Wakf Board complaining inaction on his representation against encroachment of property attached to Masjid E Qutub Shahi admeasuring Ac.5117 in Sy.No.6 & 7 of Mansoorabad village in Saroornagar of Ranga Reddy district. The panel while disposing of the PIL granted four months’ time to the CEO to deal with the representation.

File status report, govt told

The same panel directed the State government to file status report by four weeks in a PIL filed by Abhinava Colony Residents Association, Padma Rao Nagar, Secunderabad. The petitioner complained that the GHMC, police and medical authorities were leaving unclaimed and decomposed bodies outside the mortuary premises of Gandhi Hospital thereby causing injury to public health. The petitioner sought directions to the authorities to remove unclaimed bodies from the hospital premises to outskirts of the city.

Plea on service benefits

The same panel granted four weeks’ time to Advocate General to obtain the response of the State government in a writ plea for service benefits filed by a retired judge of the High Court. Justice S.Anand Reddy, retired judge of High Court of AP and Lokayukta, sought directions to the government to pay arrears of pension and also future pension as contemplated in High Court Judges and Supreme Court Judges Salaries and Conditions of Service Amendment Act 2018 Act No 10 of 2018 to the retired Lokayukta in terms of Section 55 of AP Lokayukta Act-1983.
