Engineering graduate dies by suicide over job exam failures in Telangana’s Hanamkonda
A 24-year-old BTech graduate died by suicide in Hanamkonda, reportedly distressed over repeated failures to clear competitive exams for government jobs. Her parents found her hanging in her room. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Hanamkonda: A 24-year-old engineering graduate died by suicide at Peddakodepaka village in Shaympet mandal on Friday night, allegedly distressed over her inability to secure a government job.
According to the police, Ravula Prathyusha, the younger daughter of daily-wage workers Ramesh and Sunitha, ended her life by hanging herself in her room. Her parents found her hanging from the ceiling on Saturday morning.
Prathyusha, who had completed her BTech in 2023, had been preparing for competitive exams and was aspiring for a government job. She was reportedly disheartened after narrowly missing qualifying marks in several exams.
A case has been registered based on a complaint lodged by her father, Ramesh. Police said investigations are underway.
