Adilabad: District Collector Sikta Patnaik on Friday instructed bankers to take steps for speedy disbursal of loans to women self-help groups. Speaking at a review meeting on loans here, Sikta expressed displeasure over the sluggish disbursement of loans to the self-help groups. She said that loans worth Rs 12.23 crore were extended to 371 groups so far as against the target of Rs 300 crore meant for 1,279 groups. She told authorities of Indira Kranthi Pathakam to ensure that loans were granted at the earliest.
She asked the authorities of Roads and Building Department to expedite the works of dividers and junctions being taken up in Adilabad district centre as part of beautification of the town. She wanted the officials concerned to intensify publicity over Bala Adalat slated to be held at Utnoor on July 15.
