Mahabubnagar: Excise Minister and Mahabubnagar MLA V Srinivas Goud directed officials to make all necessary alternate arrangements to ensure sufficient supply of drinking water to Mahabubnagar town and neighbouring villages, in the wake of technical works being executed in the Mission Bhagiratha supply system.

The Minister along with District Collector S Venkat Rao reviewed the progress of different works and alternative arrangements for drinking water to Mahabubnagar town.

Mission Bhagiratha officials informed that the water connections in the town were bifurcated into two zones. Water would be supplied every alternate day for each zone, they said.
“Elaborate arrangements should be made to ensure there is no scarcity of drinking water supply in the town and neighbouring villages” Srinivas Goud directed the officials.

As part of the development of the Government General Hospital in the town, he instructed the officials to take up beautification works at the hospital.

The hospital canteen needs to be refurbished and quality food should be served, the damaged gates should be replaced with new ones, there should be sufficient seating facilities for the patients’ attendants to sit and the hospital compound wall should be painted at the earliest, he said.

With the completion of the second phase fever survey, the Minister instructed the officials to commence the third phase survey from Monday.

Regarding double bedroom house construction, the Minister instructed the officials to expedite the works and complete them as per schedule.
