Hyderabad: The Green India Challenge initiative of TRS Rajya Sabha MP, Joginapally Santosh Kumar continues to attract support from all walks of life.
On Sunday, the Green India Challenge, which is aimed at increasing green cover in Telangana and across the country, got a shot in the arm when Chief Mentor of Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet (GASP), Erik Solheim appreciated the concept and the efforts of Santosh Kumar.
Solheim, who is former Under-Secretary-General of United Nations, responded to the Rajya Sabha MP after he reached out and briefed him about the efforts to promote Green India Challenge and its aim to increase the green cover. In his message to Solheim, the Rajya Sabha MP informed about Amitabh Bachchan’s participation, who had recently planted saplings during a visit to Hyderabad.
“Thanks for sharing! Please keep up your good work. And please share all good results of your efforts with me! It’s great that you have engaged a superstar like Bachchan in this process. Congrats!,”, Solheim, who is also former Executive Director, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), said.
