Warangal Urban: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao urged the people to participate in the Palle Pragathi programme for the development of rural Telangana, adding that the programme should be viewed as a ‘continuous process’.
As a part of the fourth phase of the Palle Pragathi programme, the Minister along with Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy planted saplings at the Uppal village of Kamalapur mandal in the district on Friday. He also visited the Palle Prakruthi Vanam at the village and interacted with the villagers about the development works being implemented at the village.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao alleged that the previous governments had neglected the village development in the State. “But the TRS government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is striving a lot for the development of the villages. The Chief Minister has put the State on the development track,” Rao said, adding that Telangana is the only state in the country that is releasing funds to the Gram Panchayats every month.
“In my long span of political career, I have not seen leaders like K Chandrashekhar Rao and NT Rama Rao. While the NTR waived the land cess, Chandrashekhar Rao has introduced the Rythu Bandhu for the upliftment of the farming community,” Rao stated.
He also announced that the people who crossed 57 years of age would be given the Aasara pension from this month. ZP chairman Sudheer Kumar, District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu and other officials attended the programme.
