Erravalli farmers oppose survey near K Chandrashekhar Rao’s agricultural lands

Farmers in Erravally village of Siddipet district opposed a revenue survey near K Chandrashekhar Rao’s agricultural lands on Thursday. They said more than 150 farmers had cultivated 388 acres of assigned land for decades and expressed apprehension that the government might take back the land.

Siddipet: The Congress government’s attempt to carry out a survey close to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s agriculture lands at Erravally village in Markook mandal attracted a serious opposition from the villagers on Thursday.

The villagers, who questioned the revenue officers who arrived at the place to carry out the survey, said over 150 farmers have been cultivating 388 acres of assigned lands in the village for the last 60 to 70 years. The farmers said that these 388 acres of land located in survey number 325 were still in their possession.

Stating that these lands they used only to graze cattle until Rao came to place, a farmer Mukkidi Srinivas said that the former Chief Minister built a lake Pandu Ranga Cheruvu in the village that provided them irrigation water to the lands. Apart from that, the farmer said that Rao helped them to remove rocks from their lands besides providing them drip irrigation facilities and other support.

The farmers said that they could get the best harvest on their lands with the support of the former Chief Minister. Stating that there was no truth in the allegations made by the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy against Chandrashekhar Rao in State assembly, the dalit farmers said Rao never harmed them in any manner during the last one decade or more. The farmers further objected to the revenue offices who arrived at the place to carry out the survey. They feared that the government may take back their lands.
