Adilabad: Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal and Mancherial districts registered bountiful rains this monsoon compared to the average rainfall in these districts, bringing cheers to farmers.
Nirmal recorded 802 mm of rainfall against the average of 472 mm so far, suggesting an excess of 70 per cent. Kumram Bheem Asifabad district’s actual rainfall this season is at 760 mm against 473 mm average rainfall registering an excess of 60 per cent.
Adilabad district too witnessed 767 mm of rainfall from June 1 to July 27, posting an excess of 57 per cent. Mancherial district’s rainfall was at 591 mm against normal rainfall of 487mm.
The farmers from the district expressed joy over the good rainfall. Athram Bheem Rao, a farmer from Tiryani mandal, said that he would register profits by growing paddy this year with the help of the rains registered so far. The good monsoon was a positive sign for farmers who are raising wet crops, he opined.
