Karimnagar: A zilla parishad, two mandal parishads and five gram panchayats from erstwhile Karimnagar district got selected for Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar-2022. The awards were declared by the central government on Saturday.
While Rajanna-Sircilla zilla parishad secured the award, Peddapalli and Kodimial of Jagtial mandal parishads got the award.
Five gram panchayats, Velchala, Ramadugu mandal of Karimnagar district, Maddikunta, Mustabad mandal, Mandepalli, Thangallapalli mandal of Rajanna-Sircilla, Nagaram, Manthani mandal, and Haripuram, Mutharam mandal of Peddapalli district got awards.
A total of 43 subjects including plantation of trees, sanitation, maintaining localities a clean, supply of safe drinking water and other activities taken up under Palle Pragathi by the state government have helped gram panchayats to win national level awards.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, KT Rama Rao, in a statement, appreciated officials and governing councils of Sircilla ZP, mandal parishads and gram panchayats for winning awards. It was materialized only because of the team work of officials and public representatives, the Minister said.
