Hyderabad: Esha Deol Takhtani would celebrate this Navratri a little differently by paying tribute to the goddess with colours. The actor has collaborated with upcoming designers to create clothing inspired by 9 colors of Navratri, a festival that celebrates feminine power.

Each day of the Navratri festival has a dedicated colour and significance attached to it. The nine colours Orange, White, Red, Royal Blue, Yellow, Green, Grey, Purple, and Pink signify Energy, Purity, Fearlessness, Prosperity, Happiness, Growth, Strength, Power of intellect, and Compassion respectively.

Esha says “Navratri is a celebration of womanhood and women’s emotions. We pray to the nine avatars of the goddess through colours that signify different moods and energies. Since we (my mother, Ahana, and me) have been celebrating it with dance for the past several years, the festival is very close to our hearts. This year because of the pandemic, we couldn’t do our yearly dance programme and hence I along with my team decided to do something that talks about inducing feminine powers and gender equality.”

“I wanted to collaborate with new and upcoming designers to celebrate the nine colors to give ample opportunities to young women to pick and choose clothes to celebrate the festival and be comfortable at the same.”

Esha will unveil a look each day on her social media during Navratri. Talking about the inspiration behind the idea, Esha says, “My sister-in-law loves to dress up during festivals and that spirit has actually inspired me to think of clothing as part of celebrations. Dressing up well can actually uplift the mood, and you spread happiness when you feel happy.”

On the work front, Esha is currently shooting for a web series titled ‘Rudra – The Edge of Darkness’ where she will be seen alongside Ajay Devgn.
