Hyderabad: BJP Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender came down heavily on the Musi riverfront development project and challenged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to accompany him in visiting the riverbed areas without security.
“Let us visit Chaitanyapuri or any other areas. If residents appreciate Revanth Reddy and his government, I will quit politics and tender unconditional apology,” Etala Rajender said.
Stating that BJP was not against the project, the BJP MP said there was lot of fear among people in the areas abutting the river. There was no DPR for the project nor any clarity on the project’s completion period and how it would be executed, he said.
“Why does the Congress government want to spend Rs.1.5 lakh crore for the project. Sabarmati project was completed with Rs.1400 crore and Namame Ganga project with Rs.20,000 crore,” said Rajender.
Within nine months, Revanth Reddy’s government was facing people’s ire on different issues. The Congress government should refrain from diversion politics and focus on fulfilling the six guarantees promised to the people, he added.
