Hyderabad: A day after the Congress government tabled the Justice PC Ghose Commission report in the Assembly, BJP MP Etala Rajender termed the report “marred with mistakes”.

“They are aware that their report will not stand any scrutiny and as a means to disown it, they have decided to bring in the CBI,” Rajender told mediapersons in Hyderabad on Monday.

The BJP MP from Malkajgiri, who attended various programmes including the foundation laying of VDCC road works at Erukula Basthi in Monda Market division, said the Congress government’s decision to hand over the case on alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project to the CBI was a wise move.

“They admitted that it is beyond their capacity. The CBI will conduct a detailed probe and we are confident it will unearth the irregularities in the project,” he said.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Bandi Sanjay said the BJP’s stand had been vindicated, noting that the Congress government had bowed to the truth by agreeing to hand over the case to the CBI.

“We demand that the letter be sent immediately. In the past, the Congress announced a SIT on ORR toll tenders in the Assembly but never appointed it. The BRS is solely responsible for the massive corruption in Kaleshwaram. From the very beginning we demanded a CBI probe but the Congress shielded BRS and delayed action,” Sanjay posted on X.
