Ethiopian runners inspire children at Nachiketa Tapovan
Ethiopian elite runners visited Nachiketa Tapovan, inspiring children with stories of perseverance. Nachiketa Tapovan raised Rs 12 lakh, supporting education for underprivileged communities through strong collaborations and community donations.

Hyderabad: International elite athletes from Ethiopia visited Nachiketa Tapovan, one of the charity partners located at Kavuri Hills (Madhapur), dedicated to uplifting underprivileged and marginalised communities by providing quality education and strong core values.
The children at Nachiketa Tapovan welcomed the athletes with a traditional reception, followed by a student-led welcome speech and a captivating yoga performance.
The Ethiopian elite runners Kuli Chimdesa, Tsega Haile, Gaddissa Tajebe, and Aseffa Buli were accompanied by Vishwanath Jogini, Smita Chamling, and Diwakar from the Hyderabad Runners Society. Keabineh Kaleb Keba supported translation during the interactions. The athletes shared personal stories of discipline, perseverance, and the importance of a positive mindset, motivating the children to aspire toward a bright and hopeful future.
Vishwanath Jogini, Charity Lead of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon, emphasised that failure is a natural part of life and what truly matters is how challenges are overcome. He also spoke about the importance of physical activity in strengthening both mind and body.
Nachiketa Tapovan has raised Rs 12 lakh through the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon’s fundraising platform. Contributions came from corporates and community groups including Apps Associates Private Limited, Serene County Runners, Empower Sport, Nachiketa Tapovan Alumni, BDL Volunteers, along with individual donors. Charity donations remain open on the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon website until 15 September 2025.
Mrs P. Vasundhara Reddy, Founder of Nachiketa Tapovan, alongside Swami Nachiketa Nanda, Veena, and other members and teachers, expressed gratitude to the Hyderabad Runners Society, NMDC Hyderabad Marathon, and the visiting elite athletes for their continued support. They acknowledged the strong collaborations and significant social impact fostered by the marathon’s charitable initiatives in the community.
