Every house in TS benefitted from govt schemes: Jagadish Reddy
Minister said the benefits of welfare schemes and programmes taken up by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao were reaching all eligible families in the State
Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday said that all families in the State including the 70 candidates for the Warangal-Khamman-Nalgonda Graduates MLC elections can be found to have benefitted from one TRS government scheme or the other.
Speaking at a TRS election campaign meeting at Kodad in Suryapet district, Jagadish Reddy said the benefits of welfare schemes and programmes taken up by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao were reaching all eligible families in the State. “It will not be an exaggeration to say that every family has benefited from one or the other initiative of the State government in the last six and half years. The contesting candidates of Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates MLC constituency would also be among the beneficiaries,” he said.
Referring to allegations by the opposition parties against the TRS government on jobs recruitment and PRC to employees, he said the Chief Minister had first focused on checking hunger deaths and suicides among farmers immediately after taking over the reins of administration of the newly formed State in 2014 and succeeded in his effort. “The area of cultivation increased to 1.1 crores acres from 40 lakh acre due to increased irrigation facility to the farm sector with new irrigation projects and restoration of village tanks and canals by the State government. It has changed the lives of crores of people as 60 per cent of the State’s population is dependent on agriculture,” he added.
He challenged the Telangana Jana Samithi candidate Prof Kodandaram to prove if any other State government in the country had filled job vacancies as much as the TRS government had done in the last six and half years. He ticked off Prof Kodandaram for provoking the unemployed and employees with false propaganda to get votes in the elections.
Coming down heavily on BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his comments against the Chief Minister, he said that free electricity supply to the farmers was not being implemented in Gujarat which was ruled by BJP government for the past 15 years. He challenged Sanjay to an open debate on the subject. Under the Narendra Modi government, prices of petrol, diesel and LPG had almost doubled in the last six years, he said.
Stating that TRS candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy was known to all the 4.91 lakh voters of the constituency, he appealed to the graduate voters to cast their first priority vote for him.
Rajeshwar Reddy, responding to the opposition allegation that the TRS government was not conducting District Selection Committee exams for recruitment of teachers posts, pointed out that 8,000 teachers posts were filled through TSPSC and 10,500 teachers were recruited by the State government for Gurukulams (residential schools) after 2014. “Opposition leaders are not willing to accept my challenge that I will not contest the MLC election if they prove wrong my statement that 1.3 lakh vacancies were filled by the the TRS government in the last six and half years,” he said.
Referring to the promise of Narendra Modi to fill up two crore jobs in the country, he asked the people to check how may youth got central government jobs in their areas, which would help them to know the reality. Privatisation of public sectors units by the Centre would also impact the employment opportunities of SC, ST and BCs as there would be no reservation in them, he added.
Countering the allegations of the candidates of opposition parties, Rajeshwar Reddy made it clear that he was not absent for a single day during the sessions of Legislative Council in the last six years and participated in the discussions in the house on different issues.
Kodad MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav and TRS leaders also attended the programme.
