Karimnagar: Senior BRS leader B Vinod Kumar said that except link-1, all links constructed as part of Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project were functioning. Setting aside politics, the state government should take steps to revive link-1 at least by 2025 Vanakalam season.

Speaking to media along wiht along with Huzurabad MLA Padi Koushik Reddy at Jammikunta on Monday, he said though only three pillars of Medigadda, a small part in Kaleshwaram project, were shrunk, congress leaders misguided the people by spreading wrong propaganda stating that the entire project shrunk and crores of rupees spent on the project had gone waste. However, the congress leaders were perfectly utilizing Kaleshwaram.

According to engineers, out of 86, only three pillars of seventh block shrank and remaining pillars were in good condition. It was also proved in the July when 12 lakh cusecs of water had flown down from the project. It was a classic example of how the dam was safe.

Congress leaders, who made a false campaign against the project, were themselves proving that their campaign was wrong. Terming Kaleshwaram as perennial for north Telangana, he said that the project was a growth engine for the state.

“How it will be a waste project. Farmers and the public are well aware about the importance of the project. Only Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and his followers are not aware about the project”, he said.
