With this, the number of hospitals barred from treating Covid patients went up to 10 with the Health department having revoked permissions for five hospitals on Friday

Hyderabad: Health authorities on Saturday revoked the permission to treat Covid-19 patients for five more hospitals. With this, the number of hospitals barred from treating Covid patients went up to 10 with the Health department having revoked permissions for five hospitals on Friday.

According to a press note issued by the office of the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare here on Saturday, several complaints were received against private hospitals with regard to excess and irrelevant charges in addition to violating prescribed norms and mismanagement, lack of proper attention etc.


A total of 115 complaints have so far been received against 79 hospitals including 15 complaints made on Saturday, and show cause notices were issued to 79 hospitals. The hospitals for which permission to treat Covid patients was revoked on Saturday included Image Hospital, Ameerpet, Ankura Hospital, LB Nagar, Sia Life Hospital, Kondapur, Panchavati Hospital, Mahabubnagar and Sai Siddartha Hospital, Shapurnagar, Sanga Reddy, the press note said.

The DPH warned that any hospital found guilty of violating established protocols, norms and guidelines, will be subjected to suitable disciplinary action.
