Excise constables caught gambling inside station in Mancherial

Mancherial: Sleuths of the Prohibition and Excise Department faced sharp criticism after they were found indulging in banned gambling on the premises of the Chennur excise station on Tuesday night. A photograph of the incident went viral on social media platforms on Wednesday.
A head constable and four constables were seen committing the offence inside the office. They had allegedly closed the station and engaged in gambling. Residents of the town criticised the officials for turning the station into a haven for illegal activities.
Mancherial Prohibition and Excise Department Superintendent Nandagopal said an inquiry had been launched into the incident, and action would be taken against the personnel if found guilty.
