Hyderabad: After suspending the draw of lots for 19 liquor shops in the State for unknown reasons, the Prohibition and Excise Department is likely to issue a notification seeking applications again for the 19 shops on Tuesday (October 28).
The applications are expected to be received on November 1 and the draw of lots for the 19 shops would be conducted on November 3.
The department had suspended the draw of lots for seven shops in Asifabad, six in Adilabad, two in Jayashankar Bhupalpally, three in Shamshabad and one in Sangareddy.
The department has not disclosed the reasons for suspending the draw for these shops. However, officials stated that poor response for the shops from applicants would have been the reason.
Meanwhile, the department officials said the draw of lots for 179 shops in Hyderabad and Secunderabad passed off peacefully on Monday. The department said Rs 185 crore was generated through application fee for these 179 shops, including 82 in Hyderabad and 97 in Secunderabad.
