Excise officials burn 411 kgs of ganja worth Rs 1 Cr in Adilabad

A total of 340 kgs of ganja was seized in Adilabad station, while 37 kgs and 33 kgs of the substance was seized under Echoda and Utnoor stations respectively.

Adilabad: Prohibition and Excise officials burnt the banned 411 kilograms of ganja worth approximately Rs 1 crore on Monday.

In a statement, the officials said that the contraband substance seized in 48 cases reported under the limits of Adilabad, Echoda and Utnoor stations was destroyed on the premises of Srimedicare Services Limited of Nizamabad district, as per instructions of the higher officials.


A total of 340 kgs of ganja was seized in Adilabad station, while 37 kgs and 33 kgs of the substance was seized under Echoda and Utnoor stations respectively.

The department’s superintendent Himasri and inspectors of the stations took part in the event.

Meanwhile, Prohibition and Excise department director VB Kamalasan Reddy commended the officials for burning the ganja.
