Mahabubnagar: District Collector S Venkat Rao directed officials to expedite land acquisition being taken up under different projects. He specifically instructed officials to initiate measures for ensuring farmers do not obstruct the ongoing soil excavation works in already acquired lands as part of the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift irrigation project.
The district Collector held a video conference with revenue and other department officials here on Tuesday to review the progress of different works. He instructed the Railway engineers and revenue department officials to complete all the pending works under different Railway projects. “Regarding land acquisition, special meetings should be held with farmers and address such issues on priority” said Venkat Rao and instructed
Tahsildars to personally focus on such matters and address them at the earliest.
When revenue officials informed the Collector that farmers in Udandapur, Vallur, Shyamgadda Thanda villages were obstructing spoil excavation works in already acquired lands as part of the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift irrigation project, he wanted the RDO to speak to the farmers and convince them not obstruct works in already acquired lands.
