Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed officials to expedite Metro Rail works in the Old City under the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II project. With Hyderabad Metro ridership steadily increasing, the Chief Minister stressed the need for measures to handle the growing passenger load. He also directed officials to procure additional Metro coaches.
On Tuesday, the Chief Minister reviewed the Old City Metro Rail project with senior officials of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL). Officials were directed to speed up road widening works along the 7.5-km stretch from MGBS to Chandrayangutta. They were also asked to initiate the tender process for Metro works on the corridor.
Revanth Reddy enquired about the pending land acquisition and instructed officials to finalise the Metro expansion plans immediately. For the 7.5-km MGBS to Chandrayangutta corridor, the Chief Minister also instructed officials to consult the Delhi Metro on the appropriate technology to be used.
Invest Telangana Global Summit in December
During the meeting, Revanth Reddy reviewed preliminary arrangements for the Invest Telangana Global Summit scheduled for December. The meeting discussed organisational arrangements for the event and plans to honour prominent people from various business sectors during the summit.
Officials were directed to submit a detailed report on the investments attracted and the progress made following last year’s summit. The Chief Minister also instructed them to prepare plans to make further progress in attracting investments.
