Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashanth Reddy on Friday inspected the works on new Secretariat and enquired about the status of works with officials. During his inspection, the Minister checked whether the works were being executed as per the work chart. The officials explained to the Minister that works pertaining to three floors in front of the Secretariat building and four floors in the rear were completed.
The Minister instructed the officials to expedite and execute the works as per the targets set by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He said focus was being laid on the quality of works and the new Secretariat building would stand strong for 200 years and measures were being taken to ensure the structure withstands any earthquakes.
The works were being taken up as per the guidance of IIT experts and structural engineers were regularly monitoring the progress of works, he said. Earlier in the day, the Minister following an invitation extended by the agency, which is executing the Secretariat construction works, participated in the ‘Vishwakarma Puja’.
