Hyderabad: Health Minister T Harish Rao on Monday directed health officials to expedite the works related to construction of the 200-bed super specialty hospital at Patancheru. The proposed super-specialty hospital with a cost of Rs 150 crore at Patancheru will exclusively provide tertiary health care services to workers and their families in the Patancheru industrial area.
The super specialty hospital will have exclusive medical departments that will be dedicated to ailments that are common among workers who are employed in the industries at Patancheru. The health facility will be equipped with modern diagnostic equipment needed to provide critical trauma care facilities, which are quite common among workers in the industrial area.
The State government has also decided to establish 20 Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs) at major tertiary care hospitals including Gandhi Hospital, OGH, MGM Warangal, Niloufer Hospital, TIMS and other district hospitals. The 20 STPs will come-up with a cost of Rs 59.25 crore. Health Minister T Harish Rao said that STPs based on latest technologies will be constructed in the tertiary health care facilities.
The Health Minister also directed health officials to ensure maximum coverage of Covid vaccine administration drive is achieved by December end. In the review meeting on Omicron variant and vaccination status in Telangana, Harish Rao said that the State government had pulled-out all stops to ensure enough medical infrastructure is available during the possible third wave in the near future.
