Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy said Congress party had envisioned comprehensive development of erstwhile Ranga Reddy district, but the TRS Government was neglecting the region.

Addressing at the party’s Mana Ooru – Mana Poru meeting on Saturday, the TPCC president said former Chief Minister YS Rajashekhara Reddy had sanctioned Pranahita Chevella project and former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy issued orders for Palamuru Ranga Reddy project.

“TRS Government has failed in completing the Palamuru Ranga Reddy project. Due to State government’s negligence, Andhra Pradesh was drawing more water than what was permitted” said Revanth Reddy.

He said the Mana Ooru – Mana Poru programme was aimed at highlighting issues in different constituencies and wanted party workers to expose the failures of the government at the village levels.

Earlier, former Minister J Geeta Reddy claimed that it was Congress party, which had introduced SC- ST Sub plan for the welfare of scheduled tribes and castes. But the ruling TRS Government was considering them as just vote banks, she charged.

Former MLA Mallu Ravi charged that State government was suppressing the voice of opposition parties. Congress leaders were being placed under house arrest and prevented from participating in public programmes. It was undemocratic, he said.
