Warangal: East MLA Nannapuneni Narender said the constituency has got development projects worth hundreds of crores including a multi super speciality hospital with Rs 1,100 crore ever since he got elected from the constituency. He also added that several other projects and development works were in the pipeline.

Presenting a ‘report card’ on the development of the constituency in the last three years at a press conference here on Friday, the TRS MLA said that he had got projects with the blessings of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao.

“The constituency has witnessed unprecedented development in just three years. I have been striving a lot for the development of the constituency on all fronts. I could manage to see that the Warangal East constituency is merged with the Warangal district and declare Azam Jahi Mills’s locality as the site for the construction of the integrated collectorate complex for the newly created Warangal district,” he added.

Narender, however, alleged that some leaders were trying to create hurdles in his constituency development. “To avoid flooding of the low-lying areas, I have got Rs 238 crore sanctioned for the construction of the special storm water drains. While Rs 205 crore were sanctioned for expansion of 18 roads, Rs 110 crore were sanctioned for the construction of a total of 2,200 houses (2BHK), which is the highest number in a constituency in the State,” he said and added that Ursu Tank Bund developed with Rs 16 crore and also a cultural auditorium would also come up at the Ranleela Maidan at the Ursu tank.

“While Rs 256 crore were sanctioned to my constituency under Chief Minister’s special funds, Rs 150 were sanctioned under ‘Pattana Pragathi’ scheme for taking several development projects in Warangal East constituency,” he said adding that he was trying to convert the CKM Aided College as the Government College.

“On the other hand, a Haritha Hotel by the TSTDC will come up in Warangal East constituency,” the MLA announced. The TRS MLA said that the State government would soon set up 12 ‘Basti Dawakhanas’ in his constituency.
