Facebook, Instagram face global login outage
Users across India and several other countries reported difficulties logging into Meta-owned platforms Facebook and Instagram on Sunday. Outage tracker Downdetector showed complaints peaking in the afternoon before easing within hours. Some Facebook users saw the message “Account Temporarily Unavailable,” while Instagram users also faced login issues.
New Delhi: Users of Meta-owned social media platforms Facebook and Instagram on Sunday complained of facing a problem in logging into their accounts in several parts of the globe, including India.
According to Downdetector, which tracks outages by aggregating user-submitted problem reports, the complaints peaked around the afternoon and eased after a couple of hours.
Some Facebook users received the message “Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes”.
Some users also reported facing issues in accessing their accounts on Instagram.
An email query sent to Meta did not elicit an immediate reply.
