Families of two brain-dead men donate organs under Jeevandan
Families of two brain-dead men, Pavan Kumar Jaju and Dasari Reshikesh, consented to donate their organs under Telangana’s Jeevandan initiative. The donations included kidneys, liver and lungs, helping patients in need and prompting gratitude from the programme.
Hyderabad: The family members of two brain-dead persons, a 39-year-old businessman Pavan Kumar Jaju from Kamareddy and 25-year-old Dasari Reshikesh, an IT employee and a resident of Bholakpur, have donated the organs of the deceased to needy patients under State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.
On October 7, Pavan Kumar Jaju complained of a severe headache at his home and later suffered a severe brain haemorrhage and was admitted to the ICU at a local private hospital. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad, where his health condition did not improve and he was declared brain dead on October 13. His wife, Sonali Jaju, gave consent to donate his organs, including kidneys, liver, and lungs, to needy patients.
On October 10, Dasari Reshikesh was travelling on his two-wheeler when he met with a road traffic accident near Musheerabad and was shifted to a private hospital. After emergency treatment, he was declared brain dead on October 12. His father, Dasari Munesh, made the heartfelt decision to donate his kidneys and liver to three patients in need.
Jeevandan extended its gratitude to the family members of Pavan Kumar and Dasari Reshikesh for the decision to donate the organs of their loved ones for the noble cause.
