Jagtial: Family members and relatives of Gunture Sathish, who died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital, on Wednesday staged a demonstration in protest against the alleged negligence of hospital management.
According to family members, Sathish, a resident of Shiva Street, tower circle area here, was admitted to a private hospital located in Gollapalli road of Jagtial on December 3 for hernia operation.
After the surgery, the patient was under treatment in the hospital for three days. Later, Sathish was shifted to another hospital in the town under the pretext that he required ventilator support. Subsequently, he was shifted to a private hospital in Karimnagar town where Sathish was declared dead.
Enraged by the incident, family members on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration at the first hospital where Sathish underwent the surgery. Though Sathish died while the surgey was in progress, the hospital management misguided them and shifted the body from one hospital to another, family members alleged and demanded action against hospital management.
Jagtial town CI Kishore visited the spot and tried to persuade the agitating group to disperse. They withdrew their protest after the hospital management assured help for the kin of the deceased.
Sathish was married four months ago.
