Hyderabad: For the family of Ramu, who was swept by strong currents of Afzalsagar nala on Sunday, it has been an agonising wait for his body. The HYDRAA and the SDRF teams continue with their search operations but in vain so far.
Two persons Arjun and Ramu were swept away in the Afzalsagar nala when it rained heavy on Sunday. While the body of Arjun was traced 70 km away from the city on Thursday, Ramu’s body is yet to be found so far.
Ramu, who worked as a daily wager and is survived by wife and four children, fell into the water while trying to save his nephew Arjun. When it started raining on that fateful weekend, Arjun rushed out of the house to collect some belongings kept outside the house, when he slipped and was drowning in the gushing water. Ramu noticed it and rushed to rescue him when both were swept away with the gushing water.
The family members of Ramu still await the body and have appealed to the authorities to intensify the efforts to trace the body so that they could give at least a decent funeral.
