Hyderabad: Students of Chennai’s Amrita Educational Institutions expressed their admiration for renowned cricketer Dinesh Karthik in a unique and spectacular manner.

As part of the annual sports meet held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, a massive human formation was created in the shape of Karthik’s jersey No. 19.

Approximately 3,000 students from Amrita institutions across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Karnataka participated in the event. Together, they formed an impressive human chain displaying the message “CA♡DK19”, leaving spectators amazed.

This remarkable feat has been officially recognised by both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records as the “Largest Human Formation Representing a Sportsperson’s Jersey Number”.

The event was conducted under the leadership of Chairman R Bhoominathan. Dinesh Karthik attended as the Chief Guest, while Dr K Narayana Swamy, Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr M G R Medical University, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhoominathan stated that the initiative aimed to instil values such as dedication, perseverance, teamwork, coordination and patience among students. He emphasised that sports play a vital role in personality development.

The annual sports meet featured competitions in cricket, volleyball, throwball, football, kabaddi, athletics and several other disciplines, all conducted successfully.
